Old cards have something magical in our opinion. They not only provide information about the world and countries of that time, but also about the image that people had about it at the time, including sea monsters and other strange creatures. Cartographers used ingenious techniques to map the world to the best of their knowledge. In that respect, there is a stark contrast to the current technology, where satellite images provide us with a picture of the world and the countries. When looking at the maps, the realization dawns that the world was so much bigger for mankind in the times of yore.
